The EPA Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) was implemented in 1990 for determining the mobility of organic and inorganic contaminants present in liquids, solids and multiphasic wastes. The TCLP provides a method to determine the potential for any waste leaching in a landfill environment;, according to this procedure, a pressure driven piston system, Zero Headspace Extractor (ZHE), forces liquid waste through a glass fiber filter and into a Tedlar bag for subsequent analysis.Supelco offers our disposable 1 Liter Tedlar bag for use with the Zero Headspace extractor (ZHE). It features a single stainless steel septum fitting that is designed to be connected to commercially available extractor vessels using a special stainless steel adapter (not sold by Sigma-Aldrich).
