Nurr77 is an internal nuclear receptor that is expressed developmentally and in the adult in many tissues including the liver, brain and thyroid. In the liver it acts along with other transcription factors to govern liver development as well as regeneration in the adult. Nur77 also participates in energy homeostasis by sequestrating the kinase STK11 in the nucleus, thereby attenuating cytoplasmic AMPK activation. Nur77 is also a potent pro-apoptotic protein, particularly in the brain and heart where translocation of Nur77 into the mitochondria where it induces apoptosis. Interestingly in certain cancers Nur77 overexpression is associated with pro-oncogenic activity and regulating energy levels which promotes proliferation and survival in cancer cells.
Nuclear receptor subfamily 4 group A member 1 (UniProt: P22736; also known as Early response protein NAK1, Nuclear hormone receptor NUR/77, Nur77, Orphan nuclear receptor HMR, Orphan nuclear receptor TR3, ST-59, Testicular receptor 3) is encoded by t
Glucagon-Like Peptide 1 Receptor (GLP-1R) is the receptor for glucagon-like peptide 1 and is expressed in the pancreatic beta cells. Ligand binding activates adenyl-cyclase activity which results in increased insulin synthesis and release. GLP-1R is
Undifferentiated embryonic cell transcription factor 1 is a nucleus protein encoded by the UTF1 gene in human and functions as a transcriptional coactivator of ATF2. UTF1 is reported to interact with the ATF-2 metal binding motif via the leucine zipp
Sharpin, also known as Sharpin Shank-associated RH domain-interacting protein, Shank-interacting protein-like 1, hSIPL1, and encoded by the gene name SHARPIN/ SIPL1/ PSEC0216, is component of the LUBAC complex which conjugates linear polyubiquitin ch
E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase synoviolin (UniProt Q86TM6; also known as Synovial apoptosis inhibitor 1) is encoded by the SYVN1 (also known as HRD1, KIAA1810) gene (Gene ID 84447) in human. E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase synoviolin is a multi-transmembran
Histone-lysine N-methyltransferase 2D (EC 2.1.1.43; UniProt O14686; also known as MLL4, ALL1-related protein, Lysine N-methyltransferase 2D) is encoded by the KMT2D (also known as MLL4, ALR, KABUK1, MLL2) gene (Gene ID: 8085) in human. MLL4 methylate
Properdin (UniProt P27918; also known as Complement factor P) is encoded by the CFP (also known as PFC, PFD) gene (Gene ID 5199) in human. Properdin is a plasma glycoprotein and the only known positive regulator of the complement cascade. It binds an
ALKBH1 is a DNA lyase that is critical for DNA repair and specifically repairs alkylated single-stranded DNA and RNA containing 3-methylcytosine by oxidative demethylation. ALKBH1 can also cleave both single-stranded and double-stranded DNA at basic
Bromodomain testis-specific protein (BRDT), also known as Bromodomain-containing female sterile homeotic-like protein, or RING3-like protein, and encoded by the gene BRDT/ FSRG3 is a testis-specific chromatin protein that binds specifically histone H
