Ribosomal S6-kinase 4 (RSK4) is thought to be mapped in the critical region that is commonly deleted in X-linked deafness type 3, mental retardation, and choroideremia. It may be involved in normal neuronal development. RSK4 is also thought to play a role in non-growth factor signaling and may also be important in tumor suppression.
