Transmembrane protein 150C (UniProt: Q8C8S3; also known as Tentonin, TTN3) is encoded by the Tmem150c gene (Gene ID: 231503) in murine species. TTN3 is a multi-pass membrane protein of the DRAM/TMEM150 family. Two isoforms of TTN3 have been described

Two isoforms of TTN3 have been described that are produced by alternative splicing. It belongs to a new class of mechanotransduction channel that is expressed in muscle spindle afferents and contribute to proprioception (touch sensation). It is activated by mechanical stimuli with distinctly slow inactivation kinetics. Mice with deficiency in TTN3 display loss of coordinated movements and abnormal gait. It is reported to mediate slow adapting currents in DRG neurons.
