The AlphaLISA SureFire Ultra Human and Mouse Total CDK5 assay is a sandwich immunoassay for quantitative detection of total CDK5 in cellular lysates using Alpha Technology. Cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (CDK5) is a proline-directed serine/threonine kinase that is a member of the Cyclin-dependent Kinase Family of proteins. Unlike other members of the family, the protein encoded by this gene does not only control cell cycle regulation, but rather mediates cell-cycle or DNA repairs through the phosphorylation of CK1. CDK5 activity reduces insulin secretion in pancreatic ? cells and is implicated in IFN?-induced PD-L1 upregulation, which allows certain cells to evade detection by the immune system and promotes the formation of lymphatic vessels.
