The AlphaLISA IL-18 Detection Kit is designed for the quantitative determination of mouse IL-18 in serum, buffered solution, or cell culture medium using a homogeneous (no wash steps, no separation steps) assay. Interleukin-18 (IL-18), also known as interferon-gamma inducing factor, is a proinflammatory cytokine of the IL-1 family that is primarily secreted by macrophages. IL-18's biological activity resembles that of IL-12, with the ability to enhance NK cell activity and induce IFNγ secretion by PMBC. A key role of IL-18 is its ability to eliminate VEGF from the eye to protect the retina. In combination with anti-VEGF antibodies, IL-18 is utilized to treat age-related macular degeneration (AMD). IL-18 dysregulation is also linked to severe inflammatory reactions. Formats Our 100 assay point kit allows you to run 100 wells in 96-well format, using a 100 (mu)L reaction volume (10 (mu)L of sample). Our 500 assay point kit allows you to run 500 wells in 96-well or 384-well fo
